Chief Executive Officer
Ivette brings 15 years of healthcare leadership experience to HealthSouth. Ivette graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in organizational management from Palm Beach Atlantic University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Phoenix. Ivette’s experience includes acute care hospital leadership in COO, associate administrator and business office director roles as well as healthcare consulting work as the director of staff management.
Stephen L. Chastain, MD
After undergraduate studies at the University of Alabama, Dr. Chastain graduated from medical school at the University of Alabama in Birmingham in 1988. He completed internship and residency in internal medicine at UAB in 1991 and began practice in Dothan, Alabama the same year. During his time in Dothan, he gained 16 years of experience in inpatient rehabilitation with HealthSouth including functioning as the medical director. He completed a fellowship in vascular medicine in Greenville, South Carolina in 2012 and is now board certified in internal medicine and vascular medicine. Special interests include peripheral arterial disease, stroke prevention, venous thrombosis, noninvasive vascular testing and vascular rehabilitation. He and his wife Sheila have been married for over 30 years and have two children.
Stephen Chastain, M.D. is an independent private practice physician whose office is located at the hospital.
Charmaine Blanchard, RN, CNO
Chief Nursing Officer
Charmaine brings 16 years of healthcare leadership experience to HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital at Martin Health. She graduated with an Associate of Science in Nursing from Broward Community, a Bachelor of Business Administration from Florida Atlantic University and has her Master of Business Administration from Florida Atlantic University. Charmaine’s experience includes acute care hospital leadership in assistant chief nursing officer, director of inpatient surgical services, clinical manager and nursing supervisor.
Director of Pharmacy
Ivette Garcia is the director of pharmacy for HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital at Martin Health. Ivette has a wealth of operational and leadership experience that spans 26 years. She comes to HealthSouth from Martin Health System where she served in a variety of leadership capacities most recently as pharmacy operations manager. Ivette has experience in the VA Health System, acute care multi-site hospitals, psychiatric as well as rehabilitative facilities. She is particularly adept at pharmacy automation Ivette earned her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from St. John’s University in Queens, New York.
Director of Therapy Operations
Jo was born in New Zealand and completed her training in occupational therapy in 1996. Her first job was at HealthSouth Western Hills in W.Va. as a traveling therapist and she stayed for four years before returning home to New Zealand. In 2012, Jo returned the HealthSouth Western Hills before transferring to Stuart, Fla. in 2013, to help open the new hospital. With 19 years experience as a therapist in the rehabilitation field, Jo rates HealthSouth as the “gold standard” of rehabilitation and couldn’t imagine working anywhere else.
Director of Nutrition Services
Matt brings more than 20 years of professional cooking and hospitality experience to his role as director of nutrition services. After graduating from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, Matt honed his cooking skills in various restaurants and hotels in his home state of Maryland before moving to New Jersey and transitioning to foodservice in healthcare. He served as the executive chef at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and the executive chef of Northwestern Medical Center in Saint Albans, Vt. prior to joining HealthSouth in 2016.
Director of Marketing Operations
For the past 20 years, Kathy O’Hanna’s focus has been in healthcare marketing and business development. She has experience working in pharmaceutical sales, durable medical equipment, home health care and hospice. Most recently, she served as the division director of sales and business development for Life Care Centers of America. In her role, she was responsible for the oversight of the admissions and marketing teams for 21 skilled nursing facilities throughout the Florida. Her favorite part of healthcare marketing is the primary focus on the patients and those who care for them. Kathy earned her bachelor’s degree in marketing from Florida State University.
Dawn brings more than 15 years of healthcare financial management experience to HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital at Martin Health. Her prior experience includes acute-care as well as various healthcare management companies. Dawn received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida. She has been a resident of Stuart, Florida for over 20 years.
Director of Plant Operations
Eddie Schulz, director of plant operations, joined HealthSouth in 2011 at the Florence, South Carolina location. He transferred to the Martin location in 2014 to help continue to grow and expand the hospital. Eddie has an extensive background in maintenance and construction, including five years in acute rehabilitative care settings. Eddie is a graduate of Florence-Darlington Technical College and is certified in HVAC.
Director of Quality and Risk
Jillian joins HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital at Martin Health with 19 years nursing in intensive care, outpatient rehabilitation, and nurse consulting. Jillian also has experience as a nurse paralegal in medical malpractice and has worked as a risk manager in an acute care setting for over four years. She received a bachelor's degree in nursing and a master’s degree in business. Jillian is a supporter of Hospice Foundation and animal-welfare organizations
Director of Case Management
Bonnie brings more than 25 years of case management experience to HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital at Martin Health. She graduated from West Chester State University in West Chester, Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Bonnie’s professional background also includes experience in neurological ICU, dialysis, hospice, home health care and stroke coordinator. Bonnie was a founding member of the Georgia Professional Stroke Association. She is currently an active member of the American Case Management Association.
